Privacy notice
Orbtide is a small, private community. We collect only what’s needed to run it.
What we store
- Your first and last name, nickname, email address and the note you wrote when requesting access.
- Things you create on Orbtide: events, RSVPs, messages, ratings, profile details and photos.
- A keyed hash of the network address you signed up from (not the address itself), used only to spot duplicate accounts.
Who can see it
- Other members see your nickname with your first and last name, your avatar, profile and what you post. They never see your email address.
- Your calendar shows only busy/free to other members unless you choose to share event details. Admins can always see the details of your events.
- Blockers you add to your calendar (e.g. Work, School) are visible to all members, including your note.
- Event ratings are anonymous: others only see averages.
- Admins can see your name, email, sign-up note and who invited you, to decide on access and keep the community safe. Every admin action is logged.
Security
- Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored only as salted bcrypt hashes; we never see them.
- Sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies. Admin accounts require two-factor authentication.
Your rights
- You can export your data and delete your account at any time from your settings.
- When you delete your account, your personal data is removed. Messages and events you created stay in place without your name or picture so conversations still make sense.
- Admins can also delete an account, for example on request or after a serious breach of the rules. The same applies: personal data is removed and content stays without your name. The admin audit log keeps your nickname and the reason, so moderation stays accountable.
